The Giggle Guide® asked 26 moms “What is one thing you think manufacturers of children’s products should know or consider changing? Our moms stood united on their soap boxes to broadcast their chief concerns for quality, durability and safety in children’s products. Even though The Giggle Guide® knows that most manufacturers in the children’s business share the same concerns, hearing the moms’ insightful and potent message is paramount.

The Giggle Guide® asked 26 moms “Are there certain types of children’s products you’re willing to pay a premium for?” When it comes to the welfare of their children, it is not surprising that most moms will invest more on products that ensure their kids’ health, safety, comfort and education. Quality and durability are also worth a premium. It is interesting that there is one product category in particular moms don’t want to skimp on — what do you think that is?

Children’s products seem to be getting nominated for more awards than ever — even Hollywood might blush! But does winning awards truly help sell the products? Our moms have mixed feelings about the influence of accolades. When it comes to what matters most, moms also place a lot of weight on word-of-mouth recommendations from other moms. The eighth question in The Giggle Guide’s exclusive series asks: “Do product awards/accolades influence your selection of children’s products, and if so, how?”

The seventh question in our exclusive series asks, To what extent do your child’s/children’s wishes affect your purchasing decisions?” While some of the moms surveyed have children that are too young to have a say (or even talk!), we certainly see influence growing with age. As vocal skills develop, so do children’s tastes and desires! However, even as kids approach the tweens and teens, most moms proclaim they are still the final word.
