The strong desire to create a warm and comfortable environment is in nearly every mother’s genetic make-up. Pregnant mothers work themselves into a frenzy preparing for their baby’s arrival by a whirlwind of cleaning, decorating and shopping. Many call this instinct “nesting,” and declare it to be caused by unusually high hormonal levels.

Being mothers and friends to several mothers, we have experienced this flurry of activity firsthand. While it admittedly may be a bit hormonally induced, what mother doesn’t want to make it in the cutest nest with the best dressed baby birds on the block?
