Shampoodle

Childishly Comfortable Clothes

Main Profile

Shampoodle

In a spacious light basement on Södermalm in Stockholm you will find the heart of Shampoodle. This is the creative work- space, with an entourage of like-minded creators and brands. It is here the collections are made and photo shoots take place; a space with enough room for work, friends and family.

It all started 8 years ago (2006), when Jakob Wästberg and Helene Stevenberg re-encountered after years living parallel lives in parallel cities across the world. A first child was soon on its way and they decided to try out something new together.

In an old prior Korean food store of 54 sqm (just one block from the current location) the slow-cook project started. Neighbor with also freshly roasted Drop Coffee and Al The Barber (as sharply dressed as his razor blades), they stayed both alert and well groomed for the journey to come.

Their summed up experience (in advertising, photography, game de- velopment & project managing) served them well in the process of devel- oping a global kids wear brand. The idea to be a “glocal” business from the start, meaning; working local but selling global, turned out to be great in timing and they named their project Shampoodle* .

The vision had from the start been to do basics that were practical, looked fashionable and felt comfortable and they soon staked their claim on the tag line “childishly comfortable clothes” - something that is still framing each collection.

How about the style? A kid’s wear store once called their aesthetic “sporty bohemian”, and that is something the brand still relates to. Age, size or gender has always been a minor concern for Shampoodle.

With collections named “Oye Como Va / Amigo”, “One Happy Cloud”, “No Dogs Allowed”, “I Want A Poodle”, “The Wonderland”, “The Lib- erty”, “The Naïve”, “Wonderful Eclectic” and “Instant Vacation” Sham- poodle has set a trail of happy kids wear collections inspired by fascinating literature, philosophy, science, music and other cultural expressions.

They continuously celebrate the free-spirited and playful mind, not to seldom with a rebellious bark.
