I just finished attending my third Licensing Expo at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. I WROTE THIS BLOG in 2009. At this year’s event, I saw more than ever that whatever was old is new - or reimagined - again. So … I thought I would rerun these thoughts. Only thing maybe changed is popularity of Jonas Brothers? What licensed characters do you remember from childhood?
Got me thinking of the licensed characters of my childhood, and those that came and went during the “licensing years” of my three children over 20 years ago.
“The Treehouse Showroom” ran into Grammy Award Winning R&B singer Johnny Gill and his son Isaiah Gill shopping for cool clothes at Premier Kids on June 2, 2010. Johnny and his son were having a wonderful time picking out shirts, jeans and accessories. Little Isaiah Gill was just adorable, and Johnny, a proud father, let Isaiah pick out whatever he wanted. Johnny told me that he likes the selection of boys’ suits Premier Kids has to offer.
I find it so precious how little girls can get their dads weak-kneed in adoration for them, especially if these dads openly admit it! Last time, we talked about how Jude Law’s will was broken by his little girl.
This time, it’s Greg Kinnear, who grew up with a brood of active boys but ironically ended up with three lovely girls. It’s endearing how he is already preparing himself to wait on the porch with a shotgun for when little six-month-old Kate starts dating! He recently shared with People.com:
We are proud to say that we are the FIRST non-slip hair accessories in the market!
Our patent-pending design won the prestigious Earnie Award in 2008 for design excellence in the hair accessories category. The non-slip grip comes from the high-grade velvet that lines the clips. So they stay snug on even the finest hair, but don’t tug or pull.
Okay, maybe not everyone in Hollywood yet. But we are so honored to know that Nancy O’Dell, who has been co-host of Access Hollywood since 1996 and now a mom to lovely Ashby, has named No Slippy Hair Clippy as her favorite children’s accessory!
In an interview in mamaista.com, where she was the featured Celebrity Mama of the Month, she gave a list of her top 10 product picks. Here is what she said about us:
“Fave children’s accessory: The No Slippy Hair Clippy Bows. The most precious hair clips! Ashby looks sooooo cute with these in her hair.”
There are more goodies to be given away this week! If you missed the first launch, then be sure to catch this second launch!
No Slippy Hair Clippy has teamed up with Moby Wrap, who has compiled super exciting gift sets to be given away. Each gift set will contain items from companies who participated in the Boom Boom Room 2010 pre-Golden Globes gifting suite!
Your little one deserves a little celebrity treatment too! And with all the awesome goodies in each gift set, we’re sure you’ll be feeling like quite the celebrity yourself
As you know, No Slippy Hair Clippy participated in the Boom Boom Room 2010 early last month. It was an exclusive pre-Golden Globes event where celebrities were given all sorts of goodies from participating companies.
But now we want to bring the Boom Boom Room to you! So we have teamed up with Moby Wrap who compiled three amazing gift sets and will be giving them away in the coming weeks! All the items in the sets are from the companies who attended the event (yup, including No Slippy Hair Clippy!)
I don’t know about you, but I simply love it when a guy openly and confidently admits that a girl has made him weak-kneed. Especially if the guy is a well-known, in-demand brilliant actor, like Jude Law. And I think the girl he’s talking about has an extra special place in his heart.
What’s even better than a hoppin’ holiday party? You being glam in that hoppin’ holiday party, of course! And don’t give me any old excuse that it’s just with some of your closest friends anyway or a bunch of relatives. Unacceptable! You’ve been a hardworking mommy all year long, forgotten to shower several times (admit it), and average only three hours of sleep per night! This is that one time when you can unleash your inner goddess and not have to explain yourself.
