Blue Juniper Dresses Reflect Natural Beauty

Dresses from Blue Juniper capture the blue-gray color of an evergreen, vivid impressions of red and orange hibiscus flowers on khaki, luau-purple dahlias floating on a creamy pink background, and pale pastels that run the circumference of an artist’s color wheel. These are only a few of the colorful visions and fabric designs that Blue Juniper crafts into a flower garden of stylish and easy-to-wear dresses and accessories ready for spring and fall fashion bouquets!

The creations have a home-made character with simple, airy styling that makes them comfortable and practical, with plenty of eye-appeal. For spring, the patterns are both fruity and floral. Bright sleeveless dresses hang loosely from adjustable bow-tied shoulder straps. Gathered and shirred necklines put a new wrinkle into a carefree dress, while generous bell sleeves let girls move with the breezes circulating around bare arms and legs — and toes, because these dress designs just beg to be worn with sandals or flip flops!

Like in nature, fall dress colors turn toward earthy tones of leaf-green, brown and orange, with vivid geometric and floral patterns, long sleeves, and darker backgrounds that pair with a light sweater or tights and a crocheted cap. Patch pockets adorn some dresses, cut around print blossoms or plaid fabrics and then top-stitched in just the right place to fit a child-sized hand or treasures. Most dresses come in a generous knee-length, but a few are more dramatic with midi-length peasant panache. Available in sizes from 12 months to 8, Blue Juniper dresses are sized to fit little girls and their tiny sisters!

Blue Juniper started as a classic American cottage industry — their product creation was originally home-based. Monica Mecca and Michelle Braswell were two stay-at-home moms who began sewing for their little daughters because they couldn’t find the clothes they wanted in the children’s ready-made market. These enterprising mamas soon began selling their home-made dresses at craft shows, and now manufacture them in the U.S.A. from fabrics made in the U.S.A.
