Wee Ones Is Big in Hair Accessories

Wee Ones is a Missouri-based children’s hair accessory company that has been in operation since 1973. This well-respected company provides a wide range of hair bows, clips, and bands, available in a variety of colors and styles.

Hair accessories are items that many consumers seem to take for granted; they are available in discount stores and there seems to be a nearly endless array of possibilities. However, many parents of little girls will tell you that while hair embellishments might be abundant, they are not always high quality. Some children have hair that’s tricky to work with, whether it’s curly, thick, or fine. When kids try and use most “normal” hair clips, the results are not always what they wanted. Loosened or lost hair clips are not unusual for little girls, and no parent enjoys having to re-purchase hair accessories all the time.

Over the years, some companies have tried to address the problem and have begun to offer higher-quality accessories that are also trendy and cute. Wee Ones is one of the leaders. Wee Ones began when founder Barb Agatstein began creating hand-painted barrettes in her basement. Her young daughter, who had unruly hair that wasn’t easily tamed by the clips and bows available at the time, inspired the project. Wee Ones continues to satisfy the need for strong, user-friendly, stylish hair accessories for girls.

The line includes everything from very traditional large and small bows to trendy glitter flowers. There’s also a collection specifically for babies, who – as many parents will attest – often have a difficult time keeping any types of bow or clip in their scant, fine hair.

Wee Ones’ future looks bright; although founder Agatstein stepped down as CEO to focus her time on design, the business is in the competent hands of owners Miles and Gina Faust, and continues to introduce new products that keep customers interested and satisfied. Their Apres Le Petites line, geared toward tween and teen girls, focuses on less childish, more sophisticated looks. The Deidra & Kiki line targets a similar age group, but offers trendier, spunky designs.
