The Naked Nursing Tank Helps Moms Nurse Discreetly

If you’re a nursing mom, you’re familiar with the fact that feeding your baby isn’t always easy when you’re out and about. While the public perception of breastfeeding is slowly changing for the better and more states are enacting laws that allow moms to feed their babies just about anywhere, many nursing mothers still face practical challenges when it comes to maintaining their privacy while feeding on the go. Plenty of attempts have been made to solve this problem; some being better solutions than others.

First, there is the classic blanket solution. Mom throws a large baby blanket over her side to cover her exposed areas while she feeds the baby. This works fine, except for the fact that blankets of sufficient size for this purpose are not always easy to tote around, not to mention the generally bulky and obvious appearance of sitting in public half-covered in a blanket. Nursing covers are another option. They’re clothing items worn to help provide coverage during breastfeeding. They’re a convenient choice, but they don’t always go with a woman’s wardrobe.

Now there’s a new choice for nursing moms: Naked Nursing Tank. It’s an open-busted, long-waisted camisole that allows a mother to feed her baby easily without worrying about exposing too much skin. The tank is also fashionable and attractive, so there are no worries about clumsy nursing gowns or smocks.

Two Guelph Ontario moms –– Carrie and Jen –– are the inventors behind this great product. As nursing mothers, the friends both experienced the challenge of keeping their midriff areas covered while feeding their babies. So they devised a tank top that wouldn’t ride up to show the midriff, an area of self-consciousness for many new mothers. The tanks are soft and gentle on baby’s delicate skin (and mom’s too!), and they are also available in a luxury bamboo version that holds its shape through multiple washes and can be worn during and after pregnancy.

After introducing their product, Carrie and Jen found their business flourishing and they received further support and advice after their appearance on the “Marilyn Denis Show,” a popular Canadian talk show.
