Zaikamoya Wraps Little Bunnies in Style, Softness

Few things evoke images of softness and warmth like cuddly bunnies, so it’s easy to understand why Kasia Pysiak went with the moniker Zaikamoya (“my bunny” in Russian). Pysiak’s initial line was all about softness and style. Zaikamoya’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection was launched at Playtime New York to rave reviews. “I hear a lot of ‘I wish it was in my size’,” says Pysiak. Pieces in the collection are spun from organic cotton and revel in a neutral palette. It fits “bunnies” ages 0 to 4, but Pysiak is already eyeing up expansion.

The Brooklyn-based company has its finger on the pulse of sophisticated, minimalist design. This purest approach yields kid-friendly pieces and parent-approved quality. Unisex designs with easy-on-the-eyes palettes serve to highlight the quality of the materials. Zaikamoya offers a range of high-quality, soft clothing, from easy-on-easy-off shirts and dresses to stay-dry boots and mittens.

Spring is full of contrasts, so parents still need a closet of mix-and-match pieces for whatever Mother Nature throws at them. The Double Layered Cotton Knit Top is a dapper gray on the outside, cream on the inside. It would go great with a pair of jeans or would win thumbs up from little ones heading to dreamland when paired with the Gray Knit Pants (available in sizes 0-4 years). The Blue Cotton Shirt, made of chambray, works well alone or under a sweater or light vest.

The Navy Dot dress is perfect for a day at the park or a walk to school. It sports gathered sleeves and is spun from 100% European cotton. Baby “bunnies” win big with Zaikamoya. The organic cotton baby sets (available in white or gray) put the purest fabric next to the purest skin. Each set includes a hat, kimono-tie top (mitten cuffed), and roomy trousers with feet (available for infants 0-6 and 6-12 months). The Organic Cotton Pointelle Blanket is a must: super soft cotton wraps baby in luxury; these would make fabulous shower presents, and parents need more than just one. Plain organic white cotton blankets are also available.

Of course, it’s already time to start ramping up for the 2014 Fall collections. Zaikamoya is looking forward to satisfying the increasing customer demand by implementing fresh, earthy styles and more organics. Pysiak adds: “We will be adding to our organic line this season. We will be showing lots of new styles and colors next fall/winter at the ENK show in March.”
