In order to continue to deliver more value to its buyers and showrooms, the building is pleased to announce its latest initiative. This January will be the launch of the first NYC BABY & KIDS FAIR, which will take place on the 11th floor during three days of the 7 W Gift and Home Textiles Market (January 30 - February 1, 2010). ABC has been the alpha-buzz at children’s apparel and gift shows over the last few years. There is interest, anticipation and a little mystery among children’s apparel manufacturers about the ABC Kids Expo, September 13 – 16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. (http://www.theabcshow.com) I get asked more questions about the ABC Show than any other. Since JPMA discontinued its trade show a couple years ago, the ABC Kids Expo is currently the only national trade event designed especially for the juvenile products industry.

This is one of my favorite times of year. It’s warm, beautiful and green outside and instead of going Back-to-School, I start Part II of my bi-annual trade show circuit. Current count: 2 down, 6 to go.
Trade show season is in my top 3 “Things I Love about my Job.” It starts with unpacking box after box of Spring 2010 samples and continues with meeting new clients, networking with colleagues and visiting beautiful cities all over the US. It’s crazy, it’s busy and I occasionally feel like I’ll never “get it all done” by October 31st but… I’m happily addicted to this time of year. We can always sleep in November, right?
It’s show time again and the ENK Children’s Club Show at Pier 94 in New York City did not disappoint. It was heart-warming to witness the pursuit of so much good old American business. I saw orders being written, lots of smiles and laughter and a general sense of purpose. The Giggle Guide™ has found some outstanding lines featured, from high styles taken from the runway to educational threads and one-of-a-kind gifts. Here are our highlights from the shows, including Saurette, Meta Threads, Tangerine Sky, Tree by Kerri Lee and Earnest Sewn Kids.
Our frames by Posh Pics are original and made in the USA. The creative process begins with a splash of paint, random crackling and all over distressing. We go a little crazy with bows, metal crosses and fleur de lis, swarovski crystals and some bling here and there. Whether the frame you chose has some or all of these applications, the end result is a stylish, one-of-a-kind hand made piece. It’s perfect to enhance your photograph.

Children’s Club, representing the hottest trends in children’s fashion for Spring/Summer 2010, opened on Sunday at Pier 94 in New York City. As I made my way around the spacious show floor, I was thrilled to see that several exciting new companies have recently joined the Children’s Industry. I was also happily surprised to see quite a few established and loved icons returning to exhibit at Children’s Club after many years of absence. Here is a peek at some of the exhibitors participating in the show. A full show report will soon follow!
With August fast approaching us, you start to think, “Where did July go?” Or more so, “Where did summer go?” We tend to be so wrapped up in work, family, our children’s events and finding time for ourselves in the mix of it all that time flies by us. But there is still plenty of time left in August to get in fun, cheap activities you haven’t done yet this summer while still enjoying the sun and warm weather.
With the trade show season starting, The Giggle Guide™ will be busy publishing many Trade Show Reports. Co-founder/Editor Leesa Valentino and/or I will be attending the following shows: ENK Children’s in August and October, Bubble NY, KidShow Las Vegas, MAGICKids, ABC Kids Expo, Kids on 6 LA Market Week, Dallas Market, and Vegas Kids at World Market Center in Las Vegas.
