October’s ENK Children's Club Previewed Spring ’11 Fashions

Rock Me!
Four times a year, ENK Children’s Club in NYC features the best in children’s apparel and accessories. The Children’s Club show is a premier destination for both established and up-and-coming brands to present their newest products to retailers. During its October show last month, The Children’s Club included a fashion show sponsored by Vogue Bambini, hundreds of vendors and lots of business networking. fiveloaves twofish, ROCK ME!, Kai Bean, and PureLime Kids are a few of the fantastic brands that caught the attention of The Giggle Guide® editors.

fiveloaves twofish Celebrate Color and California Style

fiveloaves twofish
fiveloaves twofish was started 5 years ago and is flourishing in the world of custom fashion design for women and girls. Founding designers Heather and Kit are proud to showcase California-dreamy designs that encompass a girl’s whimsy, with a bit of refined sophistication and a touch of funk.

Using high-end jersey and woven fabrics, fiveloaves twofish has been well received by the fashion industry. The San Diego-based brand is striving to help school-age girls develop a strong fashion foundation, based on elegance and laced with fun. Every design must pass the critical eye of its most opinionated customers, with each style being tested by young girls. The designers say they will not go forward with a design unless it is embraced by the clientele they serve.

The creations fiveloaves twofish unveiled at the ENK show brought rave reviews for their fresh originality. Off-the-shoulder tees and dresses made from top-quality fabrics were most popular. The company hopes to empower girls to strive for individual fashion — not simply settling for a shrunken down version of women’s designs, but developing an individual style that is uniquely their own!

ROCK ME! Revolutionizes One-Piece Fashions

Rock Me!
Every mother has known the frustration of trying to fasten, snap or button complex one-piece outfits on wiggling, kicking toddlers. In this fast-paced world, the creators of ROCK ME!, Nancy Guiterrez and Anna Muzzy have designed a unique, modern children’s clothing line that is fabulously functional, eliminating the struggles that come with dressing a child in traditional one-piece outfits.

The original collection of ROCK ME! is extraordinary. With styles for boys and girls, ranging in size from newborn to 2T, the brand’s construction tricks the eye: what appears to be an outfit compiled from several articles of clothing is really a one-piece design that opens in the back and tucks in securely — without any fastening devices with which to fumble!

The trend-setting designs of Nancy and Anna are being received with awe, and could change the way children sport the most modern and contemporary styles. ROCK ME! hopes to instill in its customers the value of fashion and function without compromising on either aspect — all while saving time and effort. Rock Me! will be distributing a printed catalog by mail in the upcoming weeks.

What’s All the Flap About Kai Bean?

Kai Bean
With over 25 years of fashion experience through the children’s line Flap Happy, creator Laurie Snyder has partnered with Edgars Asars to introduce a new line, Kai Bean. While still providing top notch customer service, quality and design, the makers of Kai Bean are creating cozy, high-quality boys’ activewear with a distinctive style edge in its first spring/summer collection.

Made from soft terry, cottons and thermals, Kai Bean’s designs sport a hip, contemporary look. With raw edges and more muted colors than those found in more traditional styles, there aren’t any cute little trains on these clothes! After an expansion in sizes, Kai Bean is now offering apparel for boys (and even the occasional girl) in sizes 6 months to 12 years.

Kai Bean is completely created and manufactured in the U.S., and Laurie is proud to offer her long-standing customers who have come to love Flap Happy so much another area of design that still provides the best that she has to offer with just a bit of a different approach.

PureLime Adds Fresh Flavor to Kids’ Activewear

PureLime
Branching from its Danish roots, PureLime has reached out from a mainly adult market and started PureLime USA and PureLime Kids. A reputable company that has provided high-quality active and exercise wear for adults for over a decade, PureLime has recently created a line filled with fun and unique clothing for fashion-forward girls. Appearing at The Children’s Club show was a chance for PureLime to present its already well-received line to a broader audience. Set for release in February 2011, PureLime’s newest collection is ready to launch stateside!

Made from comfortable and easy-to-wear fabrics, the designs are far from basic. Cotton/Lycra blends are used for leggings, bike shorts and capris and provide comfort, combined with the ability to retain shape. Ultra-soft Pima cotton is being used in the newest tops. Because of unique dyeing effects, each design girls will step out is one-of-a-kind. Bright colors, including turquoise, lime, orange and gray, are overlaid atop a white background in a PureLime signature alligator pattern. The new line is not available for view on the Web site yet, but the company can be reached at www.purelime.com.

The 2011 Children’s Club events will begin in January and are scheduled for the 23rd -25th, a bit later than in previous years. For more information, go to www.enkshows.com/childrensclub
