Toward the end of 2006, I took an unusual kind of writing journey. The purpose of my trip was to write a book about American manufacturers of children’s products.

Friends laughed: There’s no one left! Who’s going to read a three page book? Fortunately, I’m too stubborn for my own good!

My research started around the time that we began to hear rumors about possible recalls. Just as the project was in full swing, the rumors had exploded into reality.

Millions of imported children’s products were recalled in 2006 and 2007…millions more in 2008… and who can say about 2009? Almost no American-Made products have ever been recalled.

Suddenly friends started asking: How’s that book of yours coming? What’s it called?
