Take a Step Back in Time
Summer is the season of sunshine, but it’s also a time when baby showers reign. If you carry poème & poésie in your stores, there will be no need to include a gift receipt in the card. You will be offering something personal that goes beyond the obligatory oohs and aahs at the party.
Saranga Weerasuriya designed the collection with her mother to reflect her heritage and family traditions. From mother to daughter, clothes and linens have been hand-sewn for each and every new arrival, boy or girl, in her family. poème & poésie was created in late 2008 soon after the birth of her daughter. Bloomers, shirts, gowns, blankets and swaddling cloths are a few of the signature pieces.
poème & poésie embodies the detailed craftsmanship and legacy of fine handmade babywear, accentuated with a modern flare. The line uses all natural fabrics, organic cottons, hand-crocheted lace and hand-stitched embroidery. Each piece is lovingly crafted to provide only the finest for boys and girls from infant to 2 years oldThe blankets are entirely handmade as are most dresses in the collection. The lucky little recipient will be the cutest thing on two knees in the pink bloomers with delicate side ties or the beautiful gauzy dress featuring tiny embroidered pink and white flowers. To provide the full layette experience, they designed a sweet gown with matching blanket and bib. In addition to traditional white, poème & poésie offers a cream option. For a mother-to-be who has elected to be surprised by the gender, consider carrying the neutral blankets, complete with silver rattle.
