Stand Up for Safety with Bath and Play
Many parents have at least one memory of their child having a close call or injury. These moments stick with a parent and can make them cringe even decades after it happens. For inventor Jay Conohan, the experience of his son’s fall in the bath tub led to a spark of genius and eventually the creation of his product, Bath and Play. Conohan was bathing his young son, Ronyn, when the accident occurred. Ronyn was learning to stand and wanted nothing more than to try out his legs in the bathtub. Even with his dad supporting him, Ronyn lost his footing, slipped and hit his cheek on the side of the tub. It was a terrifying moment for father and son alike, but luckily Ronyn suffered only minor injuries.
Shortly after the accident, Jay decided that there should be a safe option that allowed children to more fully enjoy their bath time. It took months to plan and develop his idea, but eventually the prototype for Bath and Play was born. Bath and Play is a playard specially designed for the tub. The structure fits directly in the tub itself, transforming it into a little stall where a kid can safely enjoy the bath. It features foam sides and a textured floor that allows children to stand, hold on and move around while in the bath.
Conohan is confident that Bath and Play has what it takes to be a successful new juvenile product. He put a healthy amount of time and money into the project, and he has plenty of people who believe in him and his vision. His crowd-funding page helped him raise an impressive amount toward the further development and production of the complete Bath and Play prototype, which includes colors, shapes, and moveable parts to keep little ones entertained. The Bath and Play also folds for easy storage, making it a snap for mom or dad to store it away when bath time is done.
Kids will always want to make the most of tub time, and their antics can sometimes make parents anxious. Bath and Play can help alleviate some of that worry by providing a safer bathing environment.
