Main Profile

Little Daniel's Den

Play. Read. Sing. Grow. That’s what we’re about. When we play with our children, they are encouraged to explore and learn. When we read to our children, they are encouraged to communicate. When we sing with our children, we’re enhancing their creativity, vocabulary and math skills. And when our children grow, so do we…with pride, with knowledge, with confidence.
Little Daniel’s Den is a children’s specialty store and fully licensed Kindermusik studio located in Fort Kent, Maine. Created by Melanie Morgenthaler upon returning to her northern Maine roots as a new mother; the purpose of Little Daniel’s Den is to support local families by bringing them an internationally recognized music and movement program (Kindermusik), supplying these families with quality natural children’s products that promote healthy living, brain stimulation and safe fun. Things like books for babies and young children, “read to me” books for parents to read out loud, parenting resource books, French language infant books (we are a bilingual community on the French Canadian border), safe and unique toys, organic baby products, mommy gear, 2nd hand clothing, new organic cotton clothing, and home-school materials are just the beginning of what can be found within The Den.
Through the integration of parent/child interaction programs, regular story hours, Community Theater, baby gift registries and “green” retail products made available to our remote area, the Little Daniel’s Den’s mission has taken form. Families are encouraged to interact and grow with one another in healthy ways. Melanie has also been able to keep her little son Daniel by her side. Hey, growing up in a toy store isn’t half bad!
With the addition of our Web site, Little Daniel’s Den hopes to spread the message of parent/child interaction and encourage people to think carefully about the purchases they make for some of the most special people on the planet!
