The Barron Collection Ltd., (TBC) was formed in May 1990 in Seattle, Washington, ostensibly as a sales organization. However its founder, Rebeca Barron, who in a previous life was a social-cultural anthropologist, had other plans.

Barron shunned the notion that products are just “things.” As an anthropologist, she knew that people from the beginning of time have imbued objects with meaning and tradition and that “stuff” of today are the heirlooms and artifacts of tomorrow. She also sensed a cultural void in the lives of Americans following the excess of the 80’s. A “creative” in her own right, she was committed to promoting a lasting aesthetic for the home. With this in mind, she set out to create a company that would be an expression of her passion for business, anthropology, and the creative process.

Then the fun began. Barron assembled a collection of artisans who were focused on craftsmanship, design simplicity and environmentally responsible manufacturing. Response to the collection was enthusiastic. TBC quickly grew and opened it’s first of four showrooms in 1992. TBC has grown into an organization of sales professionals serving the Gift, Bath, Stationery, Garden, Spa, Gourmet and e-commerce markets. Its customer base includes the finest and most innovative retailers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, and Canada.

Today TBC remains true to it’s original mission. It proudly continues to represent artisans and emerging companies whose products provide the tools to create a nurturing home environment and enduring family traditions. As important, it has become an organization that enables its employees and sales associates to achieve personal transformation by following their bliss.
