Clothes that are geared towards a healthy lifestyle are gaining ground. We’ve already seen how some footwear brands now claim the wearer can stand straighter, lose weight, increase heart health, and promote better balance. Most of these products are geared towards a mature adult audience, but doctors and researchers know that the beginning stages of development are the most important because these formative phases are the building blocks for life. Miniature Milk, an infant clothing purveyor, is one of the pioneers in providing infant wear with value-added function.
Everyone has some snuggly memory tucked away: curling up with grandpa in a flannel shirt while roasting marshmallows by the campfire, or getting tucked in by mom, who always made sure the floppy rabbit was nestled in tight. It all comes down to what people want their children to remember from their childhood. Aren’t the smallest details the most important? Who didn’t have a well-loved stuffed toy? Or that favorite shirt that was soft and cuddly? And, customers don’t have to choose between clothes or toys: companies like Milo & Lilirose are supplying both to assure great memories for years to come.
Today’s economy makes it challenging for businesses to survive. Of the companies that are able to survive, many are faced with tough choices to keep their businesses in the black. It is a sign of true success for companies or retailers to expand and grow. A promising example of a company that has been able to do just that is KooKoo Bear Baby & Kids in Atlanta. Recently voted one of the top 10 kid’s retailers in the U.S. by Kids Today magazine, KooKoo Bear Baby & Kids is an online e-tailer, mail order catalog, and retail store marketer of designer kids’ rooms and exceptional baby gifts.

When kids lose a tooth the first thought parents often have is: What do I do with it? Many encourage their child to put the tooth under the pillow where the tooth fairy will come and substitute the tooth with a special gift. What is done with a lost tooth differs by culture and ranges from throwing the tooth up to the sun or over the roof; feeding them to an animal (usually a mouse); burying; hiding; or burning. You can help customers share the occasion by offering a range of “tooth fairy” items to be enjoyed from Maison Chic, Baby Tooth Album, Whitepigeon Enterprises, and Pink Poppy.

Since one of the benefits of attending trade shows is to get to know the people behind the brands better, I asked some of the exhibitors attending KidShow Las Vegas (February 13-15 at Bally’s) to preview the Must-See in their collections and a favorite Must-Do while in Las Vegas. And since the show is in luck city, I wanted to know about the luckiest thing that has ever happened to them in their lives. It was inspiring to learn that many replied that they were most lucky in love –– lucky to have their spouse, children and career in the children’s business. Read on, for some good luck tales about winning in Vegas too! Good luck to all. Happy Valentine’s and see you at KidShow Vegas!

By all accounts, the Atlanta International Gift Market at AmericasMart that took place January 10th through the 18th was a great way to start the new year. The show reported record-breaking buyer traffic with soaring registrations, non-stop order writing, and exclusive product introductions — a real thrill for all involved. A number of new companies and products debuted in Atlanta, including logo loops, Bitsy, The San Francisco Music Box Co. and Pierre Belvédère Inc.
