World Market Center Las Vegas Announces Plans for ‘Vegas Kids’ in June 2010

World Market Center Las Vegas announced plans to launch another ancillary market – “Vegas Kids” during June 13-16, 2010. This new event will run concurrent with the 2010 “Gift + Home” Market.

According to Philip McKay, World Market Center Las Vegas’ Senior Vice President, this new show will pull together exhibitors and buyers across a broad spectrum of interrelated industries, namely nursery and youth furniture, juvenile products, toy and game, children’s books, children’s apparel, and gift.

“Vegas Kids is a perfect complement to our Gift + Home show, and further solidifies our vision of being a total home marketplace,” McKay said. “We have tremendous momentum and we’ve been steadily attracting buyers from related industries to Las Vegas Market. We look forward to offering the children’s industry a show that consolidates the best resources for buyers regionally, nationally and internationally in a destination like no other.”

McKay added that World Market Center Las Vegas sees enormous potential to provide a meaningful buying experience for the children-related products sector on a global level. “This show will address the needs of retailers and exhibitors alike and will offer current World Market Center showrooms even more added value and ROI with the enormous crossover potential among the existing industry sectors.”

Newly appointed by WMCLV to work on this initiative is Gregory Panos who has extensive experience in both the juvenile products industry and adult furniture sector. “His background in integrating social media marketing technology into the B2B and B2C sectors of the juvenile, toy, and children’s apparel industries dovetails perfectly with our exceptional operations, sales and marketing teams. Together, we will build on our successful infrastructure and attract new resources to World Market Center to create a world-class platform for the juvenile market,” adds McKay.

“The mission of the show is to unite buyers, vendors, sales representatives, service suppliers and distributors in all juvenile industry segments through the successful integration of display, education, innovative ideas and products, forums, and technology,” says Panos. “This will translate into a competitive edge and enhanced profitability for all participants.”

Las Vegas Market currently includes a Vegas Kids destination in Building A, Floor 9 with exhibitors including Alligator Enterprise, Berg Furniture, California Kids, Comfort Research, Furniture Basics, KidKraft, Levels of Discovery OneWorld, Southeastern Kids, Vermont Precision Woodworks / Bolton Furniture and more. “Any time we are given the opportunity to reach a new buyer base and open our space to write more business, we are in total support,” said Pam Gold, co-owner of OneWorld. “The industry needs an all-inclusive show that can provide a well-rounded experience for the attendee including education and entertainment. World Market Center can certainly deliver on both.”

World Market Center Las Vegas is already securing special rates at a variety of Las Vegas hotels for the June 2010 dates and a full list of host hotels will be announced soon.
