Piperoid Makes Paper Rock with Scissors!

Do you remember the fun of making paper crafts when you were a kid? It’s still very much in style and nowhere is it expressed with more originality than with Piperoid, incredibly cool robots made entirely out of paper. Futuristic-looking Piperoids hail from Japan where they won the Good Design Award. They’re a breeze to put together, as each robot is made of colorful paper tubes with pre-drilled holes so older children can cut, fold, and connect the pipes without having to fumble with sticky, messy glue or tape. The only tool needed is a pair of scissors!

Even kids who are just learning to cut with scissors can make a simple Piperoid with a little help from an adult. The far-out figures are also huge with teens who have a blast creating different figures to decorate their rooms. Parents looking for a way to bond with youngsters can work on this craft side by side with kids, helping little hands create unusual, amusing figures that run on imagination.

All the characters’ joints move, so they can bend and “interact” with one another. Most of these stylish robots take under a half hour to complete, but some of the easier ones can be made in as little as ten minutes.

All Piperoids come with clear, easy-to-follow, pictorial instructions and, when finished, range in size from five to eight inches high. Because the figures are all built from the same size tubes, users can swap parts of one construction kit with another to create awesome hybrids, following whatever direction their creativity takes them. The precision with which the tubes are made and holes drilled means every figure turns out as it should — no goofs in this group!

Some of the newest Piperoids come in pairs like football captain and cheerleader, Tackle and Pom; rival chefs Salt and Pepper; and circus duo Funny and Angry. For single Piperoids, consider Muscle Joe, a red and blue figure with humongous hands, or blue and purple Hammer Rose, a winsome girl robot.

Every Piperoid comes with a back story explaining the character’s history or proud owners can invent their own adventures. Display Piperoid robots as action figures dancing, fighting, or playing with one another or let them hold small notes or photographs to showcase their great design.
