Pump Your Bike Ride

Shoppers who want the last word in a bicycle now have a way to avail themselves of a totally customized fashion bike that will be unlike anyone else’s. To design a bike at Villy Customs, a customer can click on the “design your bicycle” link on the homepage and select the perfect frame from the Villy Brougham, Villy Deluxe, Villy Woman’s Brougham or Villy Onassis (two styles for men and two for women). Then the fun really begins…

The next selections deal with color and other style choices including frame color, frame style, chain color, tire color, wheel color, handlebars, grips, seatpost clamp, fender color, chain guard color, seat style and pattern.

If a customer wants to take creativity to the highest level, there are more options to choose from including any design one can dream up for a hand-painted seat cover; over fifty colors of custom pinstriped fenders; custom pinstriped cup holders that will match the bike; Bling Badges that go on the front neck of the bike; ten new colors for the neck stem; eight new colors for the handlebars; and ten new colors each for the seatposts, seat hardware and fender braces.

Want wheels in lemon? Prefer lime? Have it your way. Frames come in multiple hues, from candy-apple red to mint green to tangerine orange or, for a more sophisticated palate, in dove gray, avocado or chocolaty chestnut brown.

These comfortable, easy-to-ride cruiser bikes are not, and will not, be available in bike shops. Once ordered, it takes approximately two weeks to assemble and ship the bike which is built in Dallas, TX. The name “Villy” honors the owner’s dog, Deville who serves as the company mascot.

For shoppers who don’t feel like creating their own design, Villy offers ready-made bikes in a variety of looks and styles like the Remyxx Rainbow, tricked out in apple green, white, a hint of lemon and blue; Sweet Fire, a dashing mix of red and pink; Nina, a bright pink number with pink wheels that would rock any female’s world; and Lorikeet, with orange and white predominating.

Founder and entrepreneur Fleetwood Hicks has capitalized on the growing trend for customization, well aware that almost everyone wants to stand out. By taking parts of the bicycle that are normally silver and power-coating them in more colors than the rainbow, it’s possible to come up with original combinations. For those who want still more options, Villy Custom offers baskets, good-looking bike shirts and bells including ones that mimic ladybugs, a red-white-and-blue bells like the American Flag and a bell that looks like a hamburger!
