French Company Babymoov Begins Moving Its Innovative Products to the U.S.

Babymoov, the award-winning French juvenile products company, has launched its products for distribution throughout the United States. Founded by three men who met in graduate school in their native Auvergne region of France, Babymoov was born in 1998. From the beginning, Babymoov has endeavored to be the brand that thinks outside the box to reinvent the everyday life of parents by providing reliable, highly designed and technologically advanced products. This commitment has driven the company’s continuous growth and earned Babymoov numerous awards and patents. Babymoov will launch five product categories — Feeding, Well Being, Comfort, Gear, and Safety — at the ABC Kids Show and begin shipping to U.S. retailers in late September.

“The United States is an incredibly important market and next step in Babymoov’s growth. Our decision to enter the U.S. is largely due to our confidence in our proven systems for marketing, producing and delivering high quality, competitive products that simplify life for parents,” explains Laurent Windenberger, Babymoov’s CEO R&D and Marketing.

Since its creation, Babymoov has relied on a co-creation process with the best experts: moms. Its unique innovation process draws inspiration from venerable French companies such as Michelin and Salomon and places product usage at the core of the creation of ideas. Focus groups with moms, meetings with the company’s committee of experts, on-site observation days in the company’s day-nursery, and an investment of approximately $1.3 million in R&D each year fuel Babymoov’s invention of fresh, technologically advanced, trend-setting products that perfectly adapt to babies’ and parents’ changing needs. This commitment led Babymoov to register 7 patents in 2013 and 10 patents in 2014.

Babymoov pairs its commitment to innovation with a guarantee of reliability and safety. The company’s integrated quality department, company lab and independent laboratories ensure that Babymoov’s products meet its quality standards and comply with the strictest regulatory requirements across a wide range of products and materials in all 48 countries in which Babymoov products are sold. Babymoov proves its commitment to providing the safest and most reliable baby products by offering an unprecedented lifetime warranty on all of its products.

Babymoov’s commitment to innovation and reliability extends to the company’s business operations as well. In the key markets worldwide, Babymoov establishes business units responsible for the company’s expansion rather than relying on distributors. The U.S. is the sixth of the company’s international subsidiaries and is being established with the guidance of juvenile products industry veteran Stellario D’Urso of Kastel International. With Kastel International, Babymoov enters the highly competitive U.S. market with a partner with a proven track-record of establishing profitable and sustainable U.S. operations.

The first of Babymoov’s innovative products to arrive in the U.S. is the award-winning Nutribaby food processor, a five-in-one tool that warms, sterilizes, defrosts, steams and blends and features a digital screen for easy set-up of the functions. The Nutribaby guarantees healthy and tasty cuisine by giving parents the ability to cook different ingredients, each in its optimal cooking time, at the same time. With the Nutribaby’s two cooking baskets, parents simply start with the foods that need to cook the longest then add the other ingredients to the second basket once their correct cooking time is left in the cycle. Cooking foods separately and for the correct amount of time ensures that baby benefits from all of the foods’ vitamins and flavors.

The appliance’s detachable blender and cooking units offer the largest capacities on the market, 6.25 cups blending and 3.75 cups steaming, to help busy moms easily prepare several meals at once or prepare one delicious meal for multiple children. All five functions of the Nutribaby are digitally controlled by the LCD display that guides the user in an intuitive way eliminating the need to constantly refer to the manual or measure water. Parents simply fill the reservoir, set the cooking time and wait for the cycle to complete. An indispensable tool from birth, the Nutribaby food processor arrives at the end of September with an MSRP of $119.99.

Babymoov’s Turbo Steam Electric Sterilizer is the first 2-in-1 sterilizer that offers parents the cleaning efficiency of a sterilizer and the convenience of a bottle drying rack. The sterilizer’s patent-pending turbo steam system and long, removable steaming arms direct steam at the core of bottles for efficient sterilization of the entire bottle. The Turbo Steam Sterilizer accommodates all types of bottles and its central structure allows it to sterilize up to 6 bottles, inside and out, in 10 minutes. The universal system’s removable arms modulate the space to sterilize other types of products such as breast pump shields and jars.

Like all Babymoov products, the Turbo Steam Sterilizer is intuitively designed and very easy to use. Step by step instructions and a measuring cup are included. An alarm sounds when the cycle is complete and the system’s automatic shutdown prevents unnecessary energy consumption. MSRP of $64.99.

Babymoov’s silicone containers are stackable and collapsible to save room in cupboards and in diaper bags. Constructed from strong, heat resistant silicone, the containers are microwave and dishwasher safe. The silicone containers are graduated to help parents easily measure baby’s food and the surface is rewritable for easy labeling of contents. Babymoov guarantees the containers are 0% bisphenol A free. The collapsible silicone containers are sold in multipacks with the choice of a set of three 240ml containers or a set of four containers, two 240mil and two 400ml. The pack of three retails for $17.99 and the four-pack for $24.99.

“I am very excited to be part of the launch of Babymoov in the U.S. In all my years in the industry, I have rarely seen a company so truly committed to innovation as Babymoov,” says D’Urso. “Their products answer real questions and solve real problems for parents. In addition, their approach to the U.S. market has been very methodical and pragmatic and I am extremely confident that we will be able to establish Babymoov as a relevant consumer brand among U.S. parents.”

Now in its 16th year, Babymoov remains in its native Auvergne with its fresh air, its mountains, its cows and its cheese. The three founders, all now dads, lead a team of long-standing employees, a third of which have worked for the company for more than 5 years. Nearly half of their employees are parents and 85% are women under the age of 35. Babymoov’s network of 20 suppliers specializes in electronics, textile, wood and plastics and includes 10 partners who have worked with the company for 15 years. Babymoov’s global presence includes six subsidiaries, distribution in 48 countries and warehouses in China, France and the United States.
