It’s Good to Know … Linda Stokes

Linda Stokes, creator of TuTu Cute and LSO Design, is my “one degree of separation” from countless celebrities for whom she makes performance, red carpet and other star-quality fashions. In her down-to-earth, but larger-than-life style, she is my favorite “name dropper.” No one but Linda would place Chaka Khan on hold to talk to me at a trade show! Linda cracks me up with her “off the record” tales of working with Donna Summer, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, The Black Eyed Peas, Macy Gray, Steve Harvey and more. Her client list of stars might fit in a galaxy, but too long for this blog.

Linda Stokes is also my most accessible business friend. Rarely do I get her voice mail, as she constantly wears her cell phone earpiece like an essential fashion accessory! I always enjoy checking in with Linda to see what’s new with her children’s clothing line, TuTu Cute. I think Linda should be credited as the originator of the tutu craze for little princesses. Her collection includes the best attention to detail superior fit, generous use of fabric, beautiful embellishments and special finishing touches. Her jackets too are fantastic. TuTu Cute also offers tween and junior collections, and her Swarovski™ crystal crafted piggy banks, purses and other collectibles are works of art.

Linda loves every shade of PINK! Her collections showcase a healthy dose of “in the pink” hues that are favored by little royalty. Linda even takes her pink passion on the road, as she drives around in a bright pink van, decorated with “TuTu Cute!”

A catch-up call to Linda always leaves me smiling. We laugh together, share a bit of our ups and downs, focus on the positive, and revel in a harmless bit of celebrity gossip. It’s fun for me to know Linda Stokes. I value her friendship, admire her work ethic, creativity, generosity in charitable causes, and the way she more than multi-tasks between her roles as mother, grandmother, wife and entrepreneur in both the worlds of children’s and celebrity fashions.

“It’s Good to Know” is a recurring feature on my blog. Come back next Thursday to meet the next person I’m glad to know in the children’s industry.
