Spreading the News

My husband and I decided we should tell his parents I am pregnant. I wanted to wait until Mother’s Day, but my husband thought they would enjoy it more if we told them first, without other family members prior to Mother’s Day.

I had thought about it for awhile how we would tell them. I thought it would be great to find them bibs that say: I love Grandma and I love Grandpa. I looked around town a week before we planned to meet his parents for dinner. I was disappointed to only find I love Grandma bib. Lucky for me, I work in the children’s industry. I told my coworker the next day, after I had been to 4 different stores in town. She immediately knew of a great company that did embroidery and would be able to get it to me before that Saturday. She contacted Hayli Bug.
She asked for something to be embroidered with the sayings. By Friday, I had in my hands 2 gorgeous burp cloths. They are so nice and high quality. I was impressed with the thickness and very pleased with the quality. The company is in Texas and all their products are made in the USA.

So we met on Saturday night at a local pizza restaurant. I wrapped up each burp cloth and an outfit for each of them. (See picts) They were flabbergasted when they opened their presents. At first they didn’t understand why we would give them these little baby outfits, then my father in law realized I was pregnant. It was a great moment and lots of fun. Then my mother in law started to cry when she realized I was pregnant. They have wanted grandchildren for quite some time (they’ve been telling us). But it was really fun to surprise them. We hadn’t told them we were trying, so they were just beyond shock. They loved the outfits and can’t wait to burp our baby.
