bioME5, founded by two architectural designers in Venice, CA, produces apparel that is inspired by the constant visual learning processes inherent in all children combined with an appreciation for nature’s beauty and diversity. The products not only serve functional purposes but also act as an exercise in imagination and learning, all the while remaining respectful of the planet that is the catalyst for the designs.

Inspired by the Earth’s natural biomes (deserts, grasslands, aquatics, forests, etc) and a child’s constant process of play and discovery, the bioME 5 Alphabet shirts (size 2T – 6T) and infant bodysuits (size 3-6 months and 6-12 months) are a sustainable and fashionable way to use everyday apparel as a creative learning tool.

Vibrant colors, large letters, and easily recognizable animal graphics (that portray the inhabitants of the various biomes) create lively designs but also serve as recognition and learning catalysts for their pint-size wearers. The inverse orientation of the words on the shirts is not a mistake; the animal name is clearly readable from the little one’s vantage point.

bioME 5 apparel is environmentally and socially sustainable. Made with 100% certified organic cotton and fabricated in sweatshop-free facilities, the shirts and bodysuits are tagless and preshrunk. Orders are even packaged and shipped in “green film” biodegradable plastic bags, taking as little as 9 months to biodegradable.
