Finger Puppets Inc.
Main Profile
All of our finger puppets are handmade by a number of artist collectives from the rural areas of the Peruvian high-plains. We source ethically, practice fair trade principles and strive to help these artisans extend their products’ distribution to reach more customers.
As descendants of the Incas, these artisans, mostly women, have been working with textiles for generations. Knitting is a proud tradition for the Quechua people who still use traditional methods today. Most work from home using their passion and skills to create these colourful finger puppets which help supplement their family’s income.
These little finger puppets have been entertaining children since the time of the ancient Incas and were originally made using left-over scraps of yarn. Since this toy is made by hand, at home it is a sustainable product and environmentally friendly! The tradition has been proudly handed down from generation to generation…
Handmade with with love from the ancient Incas!
