The Orbit Baby Stroller Drives like a Dream
Bryan White and Joseph Hei had a long-time dream of creating a company together. Having met at Stanford as students, they were reunited years later at IDEO, a design firm in Palo Alto, California. Because both men were now fathers in addition to husbands, the issue of how to build a better child transportation device came to the forefront of their brainstorming.
What were the most frustrating aspects of the current models on the market? White and Hei interviewed parents directly, read reviews and parenting blogs, and talked with some leading experts in the child safety seat field. As their company and product began to take form, their wives, Farrah White and Vivian Chang, joined the team, as did Chris Loew, an established industrial designer.
The end result is the Orbit Baby Stroller, which boasts QuadShock suspension for a bump-less ride; no-pump tires; the Cargo Pod diaper bag with pockets for bottles; the Paparazzi Shield extension UV sunshade; a frame that folds in one twist and lift motion and can stand by itself when folded; and a convenient built-in key tray and cup holder. This original model works with all other Orbit products, such as the popular Sidekick Stroller Board.
The Sidekick Stroller Board is a side-riding attachment which lets toddlers ride alongside the stroller while simultaneously allowing parents a clear walk path. The product has a gripping texture and riding handles, and flips out of the way easily.
