Everything is Personal from Cameo by Rux
The creative vision for Cameo by RUX comes from RUX Design, a Manhattan based multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2008 by Russell Greenberg. The mission of the brand is to create precious heirloom objects that one can’t help but love because they are literally a part of the person. Each portrait rethinks classical representations of the profile, using the unique curves of an individual’s silhouette to create custom jewelry and limited edition art objects that are beautifully discreet and timeless in design.
The idea for Cameo by Rux began when Russell was shopping for wedding bands with his wife. For the first time, he saw a ring as something more than just a ring. A new understanding that there is a tremendous amount of emotional and symbolic content wrapped up in jewelry enlightened him. Greenberg set out on a mission to create the most personal ring in the world, which then led him on a much larger mission of creating an entire brand built on the premise that everything is personal.
The inspiration for a truly personal and unique baby gift came to Russell when his wife was pregnant with their son Kingston. The Cameo by RUX baby rattle is the ultimate baby gift for new parents. Each beautiful rattle is a custom family portrait. The ends of the rattle are hand carved in their workshop to match the unique contours of the baby’s parents’ faces. The handle of the rattle is etched with the baby’s name.Crafted from maple with a baby safe finish, this gorgeous all-natural baby keepsake is a family treasure. The baby rattle is sold as a block of wood, with instructions branded on all sides. A gift-code on the base of the block allows parents to upload their profile photos to the Cameo by RUX website. Parents then mail the block back to Cameo by RUX using the included, pre-paid and pre-addressed shipping envelope hidden inside the base of the block. The retail price of the rattle includes all shipping, carving, finishing and engraving. Rattles are completed within 3 to 5 weeks of approval of profile photographs.
