Empress Arts Impresses with Beautiful Gifts

Empress Arts offers a complete package for the gift industry: high quality, beautiful products, and pricing designed to include anyone who enjoys unique gift gifting. Owner Kathy Tanabe states, “We love kids and feel that there’s not really a lot of time before they are grown and want parents to cherish as many special moments as possible by providing well thought out products that make people smile.”

Empress Arts has been able to grow by continuing to do trade shows and use sales reps though the years. They feel it is important to meet customers face to face and hear what they have to say about trends and their customer needs. They depend on loyal reps to keep their products beautifully displayed in shops around the nation. It also provides a helpful way to come up with new products.

Tanabe’s mother Sharon Kuo is the designer of the line. Tanabe says, “Fabric is her passion. We have moved our line towards clothing and fun children’s gifts that showcase different fabrics.” They manufacture most of their products in China with careful inspection by Kuo on a regular basis. Empress Arts has also realized the importance of supporting the U.S. economy so they have started producing their linen collection and some of their gifts in California. They value offering natural and organic products to the consumer, so over 500 items in their line are organic.

Tanabe says, “The difficulties in the past years of the economy has really been a great learning tool for us to provide the best possible products at a reasonable price so that our customers continue to feel that our products are what they want in their stores.” They also feel that it is important to always come up with new products every season to keep interest up.

Tanabe expresses her gratitude for the relationships they have with their retailers, “We love our retailers and try to provide them with outstanding customer service. Therefore, they are delighted to recommend our line to their customers. Good service and great products are key ingredients for longevity in our industry.”

The clothing line is the top seller, and the linen collection has gained a lot of speed. Tanabe says, “People love dressing their kids in these simple but classic outfits. That says so much.” They have also experienced great success with their “Crayons on the Go” and their little “Tag Alongs”.

Personally, Tanabe’s favorite in the line is the linen collection. She says, “When customers show me a photo of their kids in one of our dresses, it just warms my heart. I feel so grateful that people trust us and like our products enough to put their adorable kids in them.” Currently, they are looking to bring something fresh to the market. Empress Arts is focusing on their clothing as they know kids grow out of outfits so quickly.
