Kissy Kissy Spring/Summer '15: Everything Fun Under the Sun

The best thing about babies is they allow us to relive our childhoods. And the Kissy Kissy Spring/Summer ‘15 collection is heavy on summertime nostalgia with imagery that evokes memories of lazy days at the beach, fun adventures in the park and long cruises along the water. The beloved baby clothing brand offers new twists on favorite silhouettes, themes and treatments for a fresh update on the signature look moms, grandmothers and gift-givers have grown to love. And after a successful preview capsule, the label officially launches its sleepwear range with a full line of Peruvian Pima cotton, snug-fitting pajamas for girls and boys sizes 12-18 months to 6.

Peruvian Pima Cotton Brand Introduces Pajamas and Seasonal Prints

”There’s something about the warm months that puts everything into a new light. Free of coats and mittens and hats, we’re able to move through the world much more lightly and easily,” says founder and owner Roxana Castillo. “With our Spring/Summer collection, we sought to capture that happy-go-lucky feeling from childhood summers past with designs that would encourage moms and babies to make new memories together.”

New this season are garments with motif prints, featuring a single image on the bodice or top with an all-over print on the bottom. Also, the line introduces a new spin on bubbles with the introduction of styles that feature one print or image on the top of the garment and a new print starting at the hip for a drop-waist effect. Also, fly-away bodices and backs are plentiful as are sailor collars for both boys and girls.

Baby animals are a sure sign of spring, and from the sassy on Zany Zebras to the cuddly on Baby Cottontail, this collection welcomes enough to fill a zoo. And aquarium-dwellers have not been forgotten! Whales, seahorses and fish join the fun on Ocean Wonder and Magical Mermaid. For land-lovers who crave the sea, nautical stripes, sailboat prints and navigational equipment await on groupings like QT Nautical Stripes, QT Marine and Out to Sea. Finally, the line places an emphasis on birthdays with bodysuits and tiered dresses with tulle appliquéd cupcakes for girls and bodysuits featuring trains bearing the numeral one for boys.

As usual, the emphasis is on the details, with pattern mixing adding scale and dimension to several looks, topstitching providing visual interest and texture, and pin-tucking lending a delicate femininity. And of course, the line wouldn’t be complete without Kissy Kissy’s extra-special embroidery and smocking. Silhouettes include rompers, footies, playsuits, pants sets, gowns, dresses, bubbles, swing tops and bishops as well as coordinating hats, blankets, booties, burp cloths and bibs. Baby pinks and blues lead the color palette along with lemon yellow, vibrant turquoise, punchy pinks and oranges, lady-like lavenders as well as royal blue and fire engine red.

Sizes run from preemie through 4T. The collection retails from $9 to $57, and christening wear starts at $50. See Kissy Kissy at the ABC Kids Expo and at
