Sound of Fun Peddles Bikes Without Pedals
After traveling the world attending toy fairs, Michael Sellinger noticed there were no contemporarily designed, open-ended toys in the U.S. market. So, he created Sound of Fun to “correct the situation.” Sound of Fun offers two lines: the Kiddimoto — a wooden balance bike, and the Roomii — a ride-on toy chest.
Kiddimoto offers many designs of no-pedal push bikes, boxkarts, and bike accessories, including gloves, helmets and additional tires. The push bikes come in unique designs such as BMX-looking Superbikes and Scramblers, the modernistic Kurve, and the standard Metal Bike.
The Roomii is a toy chest with wheels so kids can zip around with toys in tow. What makes them especially fun is that they’re designed like monsters, furthering the kids’ imaginations.
Sound of Fun focuses on products for families with a sense of design, healthy lifestyle, and kids on the go. The success has grown steadily, Sellinger states, “… the market was ready for high-quality, well designed toys.”
Sound of Fun is a young company, but incorporates two great brands that also are supportive partners. Both Kiddimoto and Roomii are awarding-winning English brands that represent the best in UK design, while meeting all American and European standards.
The Roomii and Kiddimoto have continually sold well, Sellinger says of the top sellers, “We found that customers love to spend time contemplating which helmets and gloves to mix and match with their balance bikes and are excited to adopt Roomii monsters in any color.”
Currently they are looking to expand their product line, but such venture is not simple. Sellinger says, “Some key attributes we consider are, will the object get used more than once? And, would we mind having it in our own living room?”
