August Markets in Dallas Offered One-Stop Shopping

DALLAS – August 21, 2009 – Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale resource, today announced that the recent Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market and The Men’s Show – Dallas Collective offered one-stop shopping with more resources across more categories than any other marketplace in the country. The complete selection of apparel included women’s, children’s, men’s, western, prom, special occasion and more was shown during the overlapping shows in Dallas.

In addition, the official ribbon cutting for the Prom, Bridal and Special Occasion neighborhood was held on Saturday, August 15. Following the ribbon cutting buyers and exhibitors celebrated the fully leased area during the GO PROM CRAZY Party with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while enjoying disco Prom tunes from DJ Lucy Wrubel.

“The official opening of the fully leased Prom and Special Occasion neighborhood was a market highlight as well as the continued upswing of attendance by new buyers,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “We remain hopeful going into the fall given our position as the strongest economic region in the United States and the lowest cost marketplace for conducting business.”

The Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market, August 13-16, offered fresh resources including new showrooms and lines, as well as a range of special events and educational opportunities. An all-market party, INFERNO, was held the evening of Thursday, August 13 with legendary New York City DJ Lady Bunny spinning tunes of the 70’s while party-goers enjoyed cocktails.

The Men’s Show – Dallas Collective, August 16-18, showcased better men’s apparel on the 7th floor and contemporary resources on the 15th floor of FashionCenterDallas®. The show is held twice a year and continues to grow with a broader range of lines for buyers.

On Sunday evening, August 16, The Men’s Show Party was held in the District One Five® Lounge. Exhibitors and buyers mixed and mingled while unwinding with hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and live music.

Finally, Dallas Market Center continued to offer the lowest hotel rates in five years through its in-house travel agency, Market Travel®. Buyers and exhibitors had access to specially negotiated room rates at 24 hotel properties, ranging in price from $99 to $214 a night.
