Since one of the benefits of attending trade shows is to get to know the people behind the brands better, I asked some of the exhibitors attending KidShow Las Vegas (February 13-15 at Bally’s) to preview the Must-See in their collections and a favorite Must-Do while in Las Vegas. And since the show is in luck city, I wanted to know about the luckiest thing that has ever happened to them in their lives. It was inspiring to learn that many replied that they were most lucky in love –– lucky to have their spouse, children and career in the children’s business. Read on, for some good luck tales about winning in Vegas too! Good luck to all. Happy Valentine’s and see you at KidShow Vegas!

The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market® - Atlanta, Georgia (1/11/12 - 1/18/12)

By all accounts, the Atlanta International Gift Market at AmericasMart that took place January 10th through the 18th was a great way to start the new year. The show reported record-breaking buyer traffic with soaring registrations, non-stop order writing, and exclusive product introductions — a real thrill for all involved. A number of new companies and products debuted in Atlanta, including logo loops, Bitsy, The San Francisco Music Box Co. and Pierre Belvédère Inc.

Sugar and spice and everything nice, that’s what little babies are made of. No one understands this better than the folks behind the Teresa Alecrim brand who started the business back in 1981, in Lisbon, Portugal. Portuguese textile design has long been heralded at the top of the class. Delicate stitchery shows off exquisite designs including kids enjoying a jump rope session, a train, ducks, a friendly bear, a rocking bassinet, a little duck and a galaxy of stars to watch over baby. One design in pink and green proclaims “Bebe”, Spanish for — you guessed it — baby.

What has gorgeous stretches of sandy beaches, hosts the world’s opal capital, and is known for its friendly, outgoing people? That “Lucky Country” is Australia, home not only to bouncing joeys but also lively, thriving businesses. Australians prize their individuality and let their hard work speak for itself in the form of long-lasting, sturdy, unique items that can be found nowhere else except in the Land Down Under. The Giggle Guide® presents some awesome children’s brands from Australia: Fertile Mind, Weegoamigo, Tetra Tea Tree, and Littlehorn.

Elegant Baby has been providing style and tradition in baby gifts since 1967. This year we are “Going Places,” and never looked so good.

We’ve created several collections with something for everyone. Our designs appeal to contemporary, style-seeking moms, as well as appeal to traditional gift givers and moms who love sweet traditional pastel baby prints.

We are pleased to announce that based on our reputation for quality, Disney and Rovio selected SwaddleDesigns to create baby products featuring their much loved characters.

As my wife and I awaited the birth of our first child, I noticed that there was a lack of one of a kind, responsibly made, and beautifully designed products for children. I decided to create a unique collection of products that would be intricately crafted and environmentally responsible.

If you can run a marathon you understand owning a business.

A few years ago I was responsible for a team of sales people to help them grow
their businesses and I went to a training to better my ability with developing
a strong sales force. There the leader of the class said, “If you can run a
marathon you understand what it is like to be in sales.” Well prior to that
position I had never done sales nor had I run a marathon so I took her advice
literally and now 5 years later I recently completed my 5th marathon.

Parents are more conscious than ever about making their child’s life as green and healthy as possible, right from the start. Many more consumers are also determined to do business with companies who support “fair trade,” ensuring that everyone in the supply chain, from the cotton farmers to the pattern cutters and everyone in between will be treated fairly, paid a fair wage and work in a clean environment. A good example of brands that support these environmental and socially responsible virtues are Green Kids and Green Baby.
