Bot Tots was founded by Erin Saelens, an impassioned mother and former case manager for Child Protective Services. Initially hoping to brighten children’s wardrobes around the world, Erin has also gone on to create fun, educational, environmentally-conscious books to help brighten children’s lives. Through Bot Tots, she has found a way to release her creative spirit while continuing to support the foster youth she cares so much about.

After Saelens’ first child was born, she quickly felt the desire to become a stay-at-home mom. She was also overcome with inspiration to create. However, she didn’t want to turn her back on the youth she had protected and served for many years. From this fusion of personal desires and charitable wishes, Bot Tots was born. A colorful company that donates 5% of all its proceeds to In My Shoes, Inc., an organization that provides mentors and social events for foster youth.

Inspired to tell stories suited for families, Saelens illustrates adorable robot characters that are appealing to the eye and heartwarming for children. The Bot Tots depict a unique spin on family life, and their adventures help children discover ways to positively contribute to the well being of their environment and community.

These whimsical books are reading romps that communicate positive messages about how children can make a difference. Saelens also understands that children often do what they see, rather than blindly obeying what they are told is right. As such, Bot Tots is an environmentally and socially conscious company that insists that its books are printed on 100% recycled paper.
