Lord & Taylor Presents School-La-La Back To School Event

Retailer to Donate A Portion of Proceeds to Kids in Distressed Situations

NEW YORK, NY, FRIDAY, AUGUST 5, 2011 – Lord & Taylor presents School-la-la back-to-school fashion show event, on Saturday August 20th from 12-4pm at 45 (all stores, excluding Danbury) full-line stores. Customers can bring their kids to shop for their back-to-school wardrobes, while watching local model the latest fall trends, at the School-la-la fashion show, beginning at 1pm. Each participant will receive a photo of themselves in their School-la-la look on Lord & Taylor’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/lordandtaylor.

Lord & Taylor will be presenting four key back-to-school trends in the show, including:
- Prep School Days: very prim and proper, highlighting stripes, primary colors, whites, khakis, blazers and ties
- Outdoor Weekends: outdoor activities and hikes, highlighting vests, cargo, plaid, fur trim, jeans, boots and lots of layering
- Recess: bright colors and prints, highlighting casual and athletic pieces
- Picture Day: dressy for special occasions, highlighting the classics such as polo shirts, wovens for boys and anything plaid for girls

“This event is a fun way for Lord & Taylor to get directly involved with our customers and identify them as the trendsetters of their community,” noted Jonathan Greller, SVP/General Merchandising Manager of Men’s, Children’s & Intimate Apparel at Lord & Taylor. “Back to school is an important shopping time for our store as many of our customers bring their children to wardrobe them for the school year.”

For back-to-school, Lord & Taylor is partnering with Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) to hold an all-door supplies drive August 10th through August 22nd. K.I.D.S. is a global charity committed to helping kids and their families by providing them with new needed merchandise. Customers can donate pens, pencils, crayons and markers, black and white composition books, construction paper, paper glue, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rules, folders, calculators, back packs and small lunch boxes. Lord & Taylor will also donate a portion of overall children’s net sales to K.I.D.S. August
10th through August 22nd.
