Apparel industry veterans launch the only online, wholesale marketplace where brands and stores can sell and buy off-price goods

BELLAIRE, TEXAS (November 3, 2015)—Flutter Sales launches to provide clothing, gift and accessories stores and manufacturers with a platform to buy and sell in-stock merchandise at a discount. By selling on the site, Flutter Sales allows brands to create cashflow by liquidating aging stock. And, like consumer sites that allow shoppers to snap up fashions at a steal, the online marketplace gives retail buyers the opportunity to shop at a fraction of regular wholesale prices.

We’ve repeatedly heard from buyers that slim profit margins are hurting their ability to grow—or in some cases, even stay in business. It’s a tough retail climate. There’s so much competition at every tier and overhead continues to increase. These days, stores need to make more money per sale to survive,” says Flutter Sales principal and veteran sales rep, Marilyn Klein. “Flutter Sales allows retailers to shop goods that are at least 20% off, giving them the chance to improve their profitability.”

Fluttersales.com is free for buyers and it allows them to shop close to need without leaving home. Buyers can shop two ways: First, 24/7 through the online marketplace; second, via limited-time flash sale events, which offer even deeper discounts. The flash sales allow brands to clear out goods quickly, gain increased visibility among the retail community, and create excitement and a sense of urgency.

I’ve been in the children’s wear industry for more than 17 years, the last 7 as the sales manager for a variety of brands. I know firsthand that manufacturers are all having the same problem: there is nowhere to move overstock goods,” says Flutter Sales principal, Christine McCarthy. “The stores and discounters that have purchased these goods in the past are out of business, have changed their business models or have steep demands kids’ companies can’t meet. Flutter Sales allows manufacturers to sell in-stock merchandise, while supporting their retail partners.”

On Flutter Sales, manufacturers’ overstock goods also become a marketing tool. By offering products on the site or through flash sales, brands are able to connect with retailers from around the world and increase the number of doors their product is offered in. For new labels, this is especially important because it’s a good way for them to introduce their lines to the industry.

While stores are committed to their tried-and-true product, they’re also always on the lookout for new brands, styles and trends. Flutter Sales makes shopping new vendors more attractive because of the discounted prices and low minimums,” says apparel industry consultant and principal, Caletha Crawford. “Plus, Flutter Sales allows brands to reach existing stores they may not know, new stores that are just launching and stores in regions where they don’t have a sales rep.”
