Opening a New Window
Just a few long weeks ago, I found myself seemingly “without a job!” Was I suddenly one of those people I hear about every day? Visions of bread lines danced in my head. The news clobbered me (“not due to performance!”) on a Tuesday, just before April Fool’s. So, no one was joking. The very next day I got up and went to work on my new job - finding my next great opportunity! I pushed the negativity down that nagged, “What are you going to DO!?” And went to work on selling me and expecting the best. I soon realized, by a few special people reaching out to me with encouraging words, that my reputation in the children’s business was valuable. I received several offers in practically no time, but was focused on keeping my options as wide open as that proverbial window which many assured me would be there after that “one door” closed.
Before I knew it, I was charged up by the positive energy of Leesa and The Giggle Guide™. Instead of being ground down, I was on the ground floor of an exciting Internet venture. My renewal is not motivated by “how much will I make” but on “how much I get to do that I really enjoy!” That focus has always taken care of me and my family.
I am Editorial Director for The Giggle Guide™. The Giggle Guy. Happy to be part of a talented, dedicated, hard-working team that shares a love for the children’s industry. Curtains to my window
Over the last year and half, James and I have worked 100 weeks to see The Giggle Guide™ project through to completion. We knew we could create an amazing tool for the industry. The one piece we never really had nailed down was content. We hired writers and set out to create our own content. That project alone was daunting, not to mention the finishing touches on the Giggle Guide™ that still needed to be completed. As we approached our final two weeks, we realized that we needed an Editorial Director. That night, I said some prayers and the next day in my mail was David’s e-mail. We are so excited to have David as part of our team. He really helps our writers bring pizazz to their stories. The first time I met David, I told him my vision for The Giggle Guide™. He was the first one to hear about my idea. It is funny to me that after 5 years, we have brought it to fruition and David is part of it.
