But hey, it’s finally summer, and all this work has me ready to play! So every Saturday night here in Nashville, there’s a wonderful summer dance party in Centennial Park under a big canopy (right around the corner from our very own life-sized copy of the Parthenon). There’s a live swing band, they give a basic lesson, and it’s free. What more could you want?? I went last week with a group of friends, and had a blast. All kinds of people show up for this – little kids and their grandparents, high school sweethearts – we even saw a couple of newlyweds that looked like they came straight from the ceremony! We did our best not to get run over during the Electric Slide, and then practiced our box steps until we were ready to take on a waltz. Well, almost ready. Once we got out on the floor with everybody whizzing around us – it felt like a full contact sport! Not to worry; we’ll be back – and we’ll be better.
