Lisa Malcic’s seven-year-old son may have some explaining to do when, down the road, his friends discover he was both the inspiration behind, and model for, the revolutionary Pee-pee Teepee.

My poor son, he’ll have to have Pee-pee Teepee therapy,” joked Malcic, who created the amusing spout guard about seven years ago in response to the diaper-changing dilemma encountered by many parents of newborn boys. Every time Malcic and her husband took off their son’s diaper, he immediately peed on them before they could get the next one on.

The religious ceremonies of an infant christening, baptism, blessing, bris, or naming ceremony are traditional rites of spiritual initiation for baby, and shared celebrations for families. Baby’s white gown symbolizes purity, joy and new life, and is often treasured and saved as a family heirloom. “I can do it all by myself!” marks prideful milestones as preschoolers gradually learn to accomplish daily tasks without parental help. One of these “I’m-a-big-kid” moments is when boys and girls learn to dress themselves. From keeping their pants off the ground to shirt buttoning 101 and tying shoelaces, all kids have to master these head-to-toe tasks. Recognizing that this is no small feat, EZ-SOX® has invented training socks that sport dandy straps at the top, enabling children to easily “handle” the sock pull-up event!
