Chichanella Bella presents swim season options in a variety of styles. The Delaware-based company is the brainchild of Cara Lewis, a designer who was inspired by the delicate, feminine look of clothing from her grandmother’s era.

I just finished attending my third Licensing Expo at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. I WROTE THIS BLOG in 2009. At this year’s event, I saw more than ever that whatever was old is new - or reimagined - again. So … I thought I would rerun these thoughts. Only thing maybe changed is popularity of Jonas Brothers? What licensed characters do you remember from childhood?

Got me thinking of the licensed characters of my childhood, and those that came and went during the “licensing years” of my three children over 20 years ago.

For decades, eco-conscious parents have endeavored to set a good example for their children by reusing, recycling, and making healthier choices. When it comes to earth-friendly children’s goods, today’s parents have more options than ever before. Nowhere is this boom in green products more apparent than in the youth apparel industry. The growing number of customers who shop with an eye toward eco-friendly living naturally gravitate toward exceptional offerings like those from Dhana, 2 Red Hens, Twirls & Twigs, and AGUA by Trash-à-Porter.

The children’s industry today moves at a feverish pace. Our endeavor to stay on top of all the latest trends keeps The Giggle Guide® in perpetual motion. Maybe that’s why we’re finding the new lines for autumn so refreshing! After attending recent trade events across the country, it appears that Fall 2011 fashions are reminiscent of a simpler time. Step right up, don’t be shy! Take your pick from all these fabulous toys and prizes! The Giggle Guide® had a blast taking in all the sights and sounds at recent trade shows in NYC, and we discovered plenty of goodies to cheer about at Toy Fair 2011. We grinned with childhood delight at Nowstalgictoys’ Squirmles. Creative products from Center Enterprises won our stamp of approval, and we felt like kids again as we “test drove” ride-alongs from Playsam’s. Our Geeky nature was fed too, with ThinkGeek’s joystick for iPad and interactive guitar t-shirts. Want to play? Add these exciting knickknacks, games and action-packed products to your store’s toy aisle and let the good times roll!
