Whitten Grey – A Lot More Than Just Black & White

Whitten Grey - Spring Collection 09
Whitten Grey, a socially and environmentally responsible Texas-based manufacturer of girls’ dresses, uses only organic fabrics and proudly manufactures its collections in the United States. Designers Brittney Davenport and Candice Jenkins have created a playful and childishly chic collection for ages 2 to 6.

The age-appropriate dresses include beautiful finishing touches of modern, understated bows, contrast stitching, box pleats, detailed hemlines and embellished buttons. Each dress captures the innocent essence of girlhood. Whitten Grey’s well-defined spring/summer ’09 assortment presents cloud whites and soft grays, with touches of lime green that connotes spring’s hopeful new life.

The Fall ‘09 collection celebrates winter parties, with organic wool special-occasion dresses with embroidered bamboo button downs. The line also includes versatile play dresses that can be dressed up or down. The collection is a winter wonderland of gray, white and a touch of yellow, giving it a bit of an edge while keeping the innocence style that is Whitten Grey. Wholesale prices range from $39-$65.

Teaching To Give … and Inspire.

Whitten Grey, founded by two sisters and a girlfriend, was inspired to create something beautiful that celebrates both the goodness and responsibility of life. The fashions recognize the social and family importance of the memorable “dress-up” moments in a young girl’s life.

The message behind the business inspires social and environmental responsibility through charitable giving. Whitten Grey is guided by its motto: “Love. Teach to Love. Care. Teach to Care. Give. Teach to Give.” As children’s dress manufacturers, they share with the parents a responsibility to teach values, but to also show young girls the way.

Project “Little Grey Dress” – Buy One, Give One Free!

Whitten Grey - Spring Collection 09
In addition to socially responsible labor practices and eco-friendly materials, Whitten Grey’s charitable foundation is Project Little Grey Dress. The goal is to instill in their young customers the joy of giving to others. Project Little Grey Dress donates one new Whitten Grey dress to a girl in need for every dress bought from a retailer.

Each customer is given a code with their purchase that enables online access to the giving program at WhittenGrey.com. The customer is able to pick which dress to give and the location of the girl in need. Girls are given an extra sense of giving by including a personal message along with the donated dress. It is an easy yet powerful way to teach the joy of giving.

Black and white make grey. But at Whitten Grey the mix makes for a beautiful and bright palette of innovation, business style and goodwill. See the collection at www.WhittenGrey.com.

Great concept

I love that these folks are teaching kids how great it feels to give to a person in need. I am sure it is something they will remember and tell their friends about. Not to mention that the dresses are adorable. So nice to see a line that reflects the innocence of children. They grow up quick.
