AKA Mom” Recognizes the Many Roles of Mothers


AKA Mom, a new magazine for modern mothers, will launch in print and digital formats in late May 2011, and publish quarterly thereafter. AKA Mom moves well beyond most parenting magazines to focus on the often neglected side of momhood — recognizing that moms are also wives, professionals, eco-conscious consumers and fashion enthusiasts. The magazine is created for and by multi-tasking moms, with sharp ideas and a fun take on motherhood. The magazine also will include a section just for dads, featuring fathering tips and funny takes on parenting.

The AKA Mom glossy print edition will be sent to subscribers via direct mail. The title will also be available online and as an AKA Mom app for readers with iPads and iPhones. AKA Mom targets major U.S. cities from coast to coast, reaching women 25-50 with a median age of 30 and a household income of $75-$250K. The initial distribution of AKA Mom will be marketed to Stroller Strides and Baby Boot Camp Members and the publication will be distributed to OB/GYN offices nationwide.
