Style Change-Ups are Up Morfs’ Sock-Sleeve Tees
When designer Julie Barger was brainstorming to find a name for her new clothing line 9 years ago, she enlisted the help of her five-year-old daughter. Julie asked, “What is the name of something that starts as one thing then changes into something else?” Her daughter answered, “Golden Butterfly.” That soon became metamorphosis but since that was too long to fit on a label, it later became “Morfs”. Founded and based in Lynchburg, Virginia, Morfs features Julie’s creative vision turning everyday apparel into unique works of art for children to wear, and parents to cherish. These wearable art creations provide one-of-a-kind looks for today’s one-of-a-kind kids. Among her newest creations are cozy and colorful sock-sleeve tees with hand-cut appliqués and, you guessed it, sleeves made of socks! In sizes from infant to little kids these tees come in a wide range of styles.
Birthday Sock Sleeve Tees are available for boys and girls with colorful striped sock sleeves. Hand-cut appliqués in numbers 1-4 clearly let everyone know how old the birthday boy or girl is and are far from your ordinary birthday tee.
For something familiar but totally different, check out hand-cut appliqués of favorite Sesame Street characters. Oscar, Elmo, Super Grover, Ernie, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Zoe and The Count are the stars, flanked on either side with patterned cozy sock sleeves for a layered look.
To celebrate becoming big brothers and sisters, there are sock-sleeve tees that announce their new title to the world. For the little bro and sis there are coordinating sock sleeve tees letting siblings be two-of-a-kind in one-of-a-kind tees.
“When I Grow Up” sock sleeve tees let kids express their avocations to become firefighters, ballerinas, chefs, superheroes and more. For the aspiring musician, the “Turn It UP!” tee with tie-dyed tube sock sleeves features a flaming guitar, a skull and crossbones. Now what could be more fitting for these sock sleeve tees then a cheeky sock monkey? The “original red-heeled sock” is transformed into a portable monkey friend for kids to enjoy. This funky monkey is sewn on the front with button eyes and a hand-embroidered cheeky smile and dimples. The tops of the pair of socks become the soft shirt sleeves! A banana patch adorns the back.
