“Monsters U” Hits the Feet

The new designs are debuting in stores this month and feature three different Toddlers styles inspired by Mike, Sulley and the Pinks, and three new Kids styles featuring the Roars, Okays and Pinks.

First for the preschool set is a shoe all about Sulley. His monstrous hands used to “scare” people are the main design elements of this etnies Toddlers RVM, which retails for $37.99. The shoe opening where a child’s foot would fit is the perfect place for Sulley’s giant arms to close in around it, while the soft and fluffy interior plays up his loving and cuddly side. The materials selected pay tribute to the balance of his toughness and tenderness.

Mike’s shoe mirrors his fun-loving character and captures his skin texture, which was translated onto the shoe through a shiny-pebbled material. The same vibrant colors of his larger-than-life bright green face make a statement with his friendly smile staring up from the tongue of the shoe.

To sass up the collection, two of the Pinks cheerleaders from the film join in on the fun, with cheery style that immediately captures attention. Their flowing skirts, overwhelming pink outfits and furry hoofs were the elements of inspiration for these two shoes which retail starting at $34.99. Removable faux fur leg warmers mimic their fluffy and furry legs taking the style from a boot to a sneaker on this etnies Toddlers Fader, while the etnies Kids RVM features their multiple googley eyes and scalloped, flirty skirts.

The fun does not have to end with the little ones, but extends into kid’s sizes with teams, fraternities, sororities and everything varsity. A collegiate feel is replicated in the material selection and detailing through appliqués and stitching – in essence the etnies Kids RVM is a Letterman’s jacket for the feet that retails for $49.99, available in a variety of colors. Different appliqués were used for the various teams from sporty mesh finishes, to soft and fuzzy and perforated materials.

The special Shadowbox Collection for kids starts when the lights go out and monsters come alive. This collection reflects the wild and mischievous personalities of these main monsters, Mike, Sulley and Johnny from the Roars. Bold colors and graphics on a relaxed profile provide a solid framework that gives the shoe a grownup look with a youthful flare. These etnies Kids Jameson 2 shoes retail for $44.99.
