Soapets Make Bath Time Fun!

Allan Rubinfeld has been an inventor ever since he was a little boy; he grew up designing and building new contraptions. A gifted student, Rubinfeld was about to attend medical school at UCLA when a devastating automobile accident left him in a coma. While recovering from his extensive injuries, Rubinfeld had an amazing idea. He asked his mother, “Mom, what did I hate doing when I was little?” and she replied, “Showering.” Rubinfeld then dedicated several months to teaching himself how to sew. He created over a dozen different prototypes until finally he had the rough draft of Soapets.

Soapets are cute plush animals that hold a bar of soap or a sponge for liquid soap in a pouch in order to make bath time more enjoyable. The adorable lineup includes Dyno the Dinosaur, Mimi the Ladybug, Bobo the Panda, and many more. Soapets are intended for everyone 3+ years of age.

Rubinfeld feels Soapets have been so successful because, “Showering and bathing is something everyone has to do and something most children do not want or like to do.” He continues with saying that Soapets look to alleviate the struggle of the cleansing process for both children and parents.

As the company continues to grow, so does Rubinfeld. He says, “I continue to learn a vast variety of new techniques, knowledge, and experiences which all help in the growing process as I am and forever will be on the learning curve.”

Rubinfeld designs and manufactures all the products, to an extent. He now works with a manufacturer in China where he has spent 40 days to work hands-on with the manufacturing team in developing and finalizing the product. In the designing aspect, he often holds competitions to see who can submit the best designs.

Currently, Rubinfeld is working on and developing the first Soapets book of the Original Soapets. There are also three new designs in the works for next year: a Halloween Zombie, a Christmas Snowman, and an Easter Bunny.

Soapets will soon be retailed in boutiques, aquariums, schools, museums, hospitals, family stores, gift stores, beauty stores and on their website at www.soapets.com. Rubinfeld explains, “We will not be selling Soapets to any major retail chains, as to keep the product high class and to not saturate the market.”
