You'll Flip for These Puzzles

What’s better than a jigsaw puzzle with the design on one side? When the other side reveals a second part of the fun. That’s the idea behind Flipzles, award-winning puzzles made of thick, durable wood with vibrant images on all three layers, each a unique piece of art created by Vicki Lewis. Flipzles help kids discover spatial relationships and build hand-eye coordination, yet are compact, easy to store and a snap to take anywhere.

The original Flipzles launched in October 2012 with four designs, followed by two more in 2013, springing from the discovery of mompreneur Lewis that having two play situations in one made the entire process both more entertaining and educational. Her homemade puzzles where such a hit she turned the labor of love into a highly successful commercial enterprise.

The Farm puzzle won the coveted 2014 Puzzle of the Year Award from Creative Child. One side shows the farmhouse with a traditional red roof and then whole thing can be flipped over to reveal barnyard critters that can stand on their own for more creative play. Recommended for kids ages three and up, these puzzles are winners for both boys and girls.

The new Dinosaur Volcano puzzle is a delight for budding paleontologists and includes fourteen different dinos as well as dino eggs and tracks. The challenging puzzle comes with its own zip-and-go carrying case for play in a new locale.

For a Nativity scene that doesn’t need to be off-limits to little hands, there is a new puzzle highlighting the manger scene with the stable up front, the star overhead and Bethlehem in the distance. Flip it over and watch tots engage with Mary, Joseph, animals, angels, shepherds and the Wise Men.

The Pet Mansion design features a colorful exterior with the flipped-over side revealing puppies, kittens and other adorable animals — even a hermit crab. Add drama with the Rescue Station puzzle that includes a fire station, police office and emergency room for puzzle solving and active play with the characters.

Coming this fall: The all new Color Your Own Flipzles in two fun looks — a Speed Way and a Fairy land. Kids will be able to personalize and add their own special touches to these wooden puzzles adding even more play value. “I’m excited about these new additions to the line,” says Vicki and retailers will be as well.
