Bulky Buns Were Behind Frugi’s Organic Clothing!
By Angela Pike
Frugi got its start in the back bedroom of the Jewson’s Cornish cottage soon after their first son was born. “I couldn’t find any clothes to fit over my son’s washable nappies (diapers), and his bulkier bum!” Lucy Jewson shared. They began making their own organic baby clothes and selling them to other parents experiencing the same problems. The venture turned out to be such a success that it has led the Jewson’s operation to a new office and warehouse in Helston, England where they’ve also opened their first Frugi shop. Frugi’s baby clothing line provides specially tailored clothes to fit over cloth diapers. Their “Cut4Cloth” range is designed for maximum comfort and a great fit. With the success of Frugi’s baby collection, the Jewsons expanded their line to include organic children’s clothing and breastfeeding wear. Children’s sizes are available up to 8 years old and include dresses, pants, coats, and more in adorable color combinations and trendy styles. Breastfeeding wear is designed to be stylish and discreet so that new mothers can easily maintain privacy while feeding their babies. Currently dresses and tops are available for nursing mums on the go. The Jewson’s quest to go green did not just stop with their use of cloth diapers. Their Frugi clothing line is made with 100% ethically manufactured organic cotton. No pesticides or anti-shrink resins are used on Frugi cotton so it’s also eczema friendly. Frugi clothes are even shipped in eco-safe compostable packing.
Frugi not only has a vision for helping the planet with their organic clothing, but they also contribute part of their earnings to many charitable organizations including disaster relief efforts, orphanages, and environmental charities.
Frugi prides itself on producing high-quality organic clothing while being honest, ethical, and transparent in everything they do.
