Is your business 'Social' enough?

Is your business ‘Social’ enough?

Before you answer, are you sure you understand what being ‘Social’ means? Being ‘Social’ in business today is NOT merely having a presence on facebook, twitter, myspace, LinkedIn, youtube, or writing the occasional blog. Many businesses’ owners we speak to tell us that they already have a twitter account, a facebook account…and/or they blog. But to truly be ‘Social’ you must have a strategic plan incorporating these ‘Social’ tools and platforms, and disciplined maintenance of these…which eventually leads to brand recognition, growth of customer relationships, and ultimately, increased sales.

Now, go back and answer that first question. Are you ‘Social’ enough…is your ‘social’ strategy producing positive results?

Entrance into the many Social Media Marketing platforms is relatively easy and at little or no cost. Is it really? The simple answer to that is, ‘No’. Although initial entry to the platforms is easy and cost-free, a well-planned social media marketing strategy is much more involved. In fact, a poorly maintained and haphazard frolic in social media can be detrimental to business…sort of like attending a cocktail party under dressed…wearing two different shoes…or not bathed and smelly.

It reminds me of the saying my mother used to repeat to me every time I would go out… ‘You never get a second chance to make a first impression!’ Corny, but true.

Whether you are a vendor or a retailer, a strategic social media marketing plan is a necessity today. If you want to fish successfully, you go to a location where there are fish. Our customers (moms) are on the social media networks and platforms. If you are fishing for them, that is where you need to spend your time and resources. They are not spending a majority of their time in traditional media…and if you are allocating more of your marketing dollars in traditional media (newspapers, magazines, television), then you are fishing in the wrong location.

A lot of business owners think that getting involved with social media equates to a massive amount of work…dedicating one person, full-time, to managing and maintaining the social platforms. This is not true. A well-planned social media marketing strategy can be grown and maintained with as little as two hours a week effort. There are applications that update other applications, that update other applications, that subsequently update your website…

We (Panos Creative/KidzBiz Marketing) have spent years working in social media platforms…learning what apps work best, and establishing best practices that produce the highest ROI (Return On Investment) of time and resources.

Go ahead and really look at your current social media marketing program. If you do not have a clear-cut ‘plan’, disciplined maintenance procedures in place, or cannot see any measurable gains…then give us a call or contact us. We can get you set up with a unique-to-your-business strategic social media marketing plan…or give you a ‘social make-over’ with what you already have going.

It’s what we do…
