Determined to soothe her baby’s pain following a minor operation, mom Krissy McCoy added a pocket to his favorite security blanket that could hold (and hide) an ice pack. Once she saw her son happy and healing, she decided to use her ingenious design to help out other parents in the same situation, and started making Boo-Boo Blankies™. These hand-made fleece blankets are personalized with monograms and appliqués and equipped with a reusable hot/cold pack, perfect for a soothing cuddle at home or on the road. When Kelly Ripa of “Live With Regis and Kelly” proclaimed them one of her favorite things, the flood of orders propelled this boutique business to new heights. $1 from the sale of each Boo-Boo Blankie™ is now donated to Close To My Heart, a charitable project created by Ms. McCoy to help children and their families cope with serious illness and injuries.
