Dan Garr is the only Renaissance Man I know. He knows almost everything about many topics, has more interests than anyone I know, excels in artistry and business skills and uses his knowledge and abilities as a true artist and innovative craftsman in many different ways.

I was a full-time partner in an advertising agency for almost 30 years, and I know from experience that it’s great to know a good copywriter, photographer, and most of all, a graphic designer. Linda Mah-Snyder is the best computer graphic designer I know. I have worked with her as a business partner for over 25 years and she never ceases to amaze me with her creativity, work ethic, innovation, appreciation of tight budgets and ability to lead an entire creative team and develop a great rapport with any and every client.

Wow! It’s February and March is around the corner. We’ve had the worst winter here in Texas and we all know how my computer loves cold winter weather and don’t forget thunder storms in the spring. I’ve had the worst computers problems lately. That’s pretty much why I’ve been a little absent to this blog.

My day consists of when the computer works..I can get shipping labels printed, email customers, and try to upload photos. I can’t wait for summer!

So I finally decided to do it! I managed to complete a real window display. Smile

My theme was inspired by Anthropologie’s honeycomb window displays.

When I started researching about bees, I found that they actually are a good fit for the showroom.

So here is the first painting of Hawk for 2010 which is available still in the shop…for now.
Klause the mouse is a busy body that knows just about everything that goes on in the house where Hawk lives. His mouse house is located in the back mudroom of the house where new critters that enter get questioned. Hawk visits him daily to get the house news. Super cute!

Below are a few more paintings that are available to buy at ART251.

This year we are focusing on 16 select designs for our garment sets which include onesies, tanks, diaper covers, blankets, and pillows. Check out our awesome new designs for this year the “Rock Star Guitar” and “Rock Diva”. We are really excited about these two designs. We also have ornaments that will match the 16 garment designs. Check us out at the shows for more details: AmericasMart Atlanta, NY Baby & Kids @ 7W, Dallas Market Center, and LA Mart.

I’m welcoming myself onto this blog actually. I’ve been so busy…honestly…I think the end of 2009 was my busiest of the entire year. And with Christmas thrown into the mix, made it even crazier. I didn’t even have time this year to bake for neighbors and friends for the holiday and who knows what they thought about that. I’ve made treats for people every year and this season it didn’t happen.

Ahh the week after Christmas… You are either too bloated with that Christmas dinner (or dinners, if you’re very friendly!) to get out of bed, not-so-bloated and on your way to your post Christmas celebrations, thrilled with the gifts you received, disappointed with the gifts you received, glad it’s over, sad it’s over… Whatever mood you are in right now, I know that after all that hustle and bustle leading up to Christmas day, you deserve a little break!

Okay, Christmas is SERIOUSLY just around the corner. There’s no denying it anymore at this point. If you haven’t done any gift shopping yet, you may want to start thinking about it now. But if you don’t fancy getting into the mad, mad Christmas rush, why not make the gifts yourself? And to make it fun (or, inevitably, very challenging), let your kids join in! When they see you tinkering with all the arts and crafts, they’d want to join in anyway…

Just thought I send a Holiday Greeting of Ba Humgug! to the Postal worker who stole four shipments of art two weeks ago from me. And to the Postal Service as well who completely acts oblivious to it all. My items were even insured and had tracking. And this is their answer, ” Well…we just can’t locate them.” “We will contact you when they are found.” Yeah right!

Just what I need when I’m preparing for a solo Hawk show next week.
Have a great day!
