For whatever reason, at this time she started thinking about the amazing socks she had fallen in love with in Korea when teaching English there. The socks were thick, stretchy, colorful and affordable. They were unique and Carrie really liked them and thought that other people in the United States would like them too.

After a year and a half of careful deliberation, Carrie decided to take a leap of faith and Sock it to Me was born in 2004. Sock it to Me’s early days started in a tent at an outdoor market in Portland, Oregon. Carrie worked up the courage to approach her first wholesale customer, who still sells the socks today. Now Sock it to Me’s fun, funky socks can be found all over the globe from the U.S. to the U.K. and beyond.

Behind the colorful socks featuring tacos, cupcakes, ninjas, mustaches, unicorns and other magical things is a team of six creative individuals, including Carrie. Amber, Kisa, Matt, Jacob and Tyson are talented and Carrie touts she could not have accomplished their success without them.

A Fresh Face for Happy Socks

The idea for Happy Socks came about on a cloudy April day in Sweden in 2008. It all began with a vision to spread happiness by turning an everyday essential like socks into a colorful design piece.
