Whimsy Wear Keeps Little Ones Looking Like Little Ones
Some children’s brands blur the design lines between kids and adults, favoring a “mini me” style. Many parents, however, prefer their children to look more their age! Beth McCormick is in tune with the age-appropriate looks that so many families favor. In 2000, Beth began creating fun fashions for her young daughter. After repeated encouragement from her friends and family, she decided to start selling her carefree designs under the Whimsy Wear brand.
Beth started out by selling a couple of her designs in her retail store and local craft shows. Before long, it was obvious that Whimsy Wear was outgrowing these retail boundaries. After nine years of hard work and the support of her family, Whimsy Wear has grown into a full line of boutique clothing.
Whimsy Wear supports the designer’s original desire, as well as the company’s motto: Keeping Little Ones Looking Like Little Ones. Complementary fabric combinations, along with finishing touches of cute ruffles and bows, define the little princess style. Adorable and sweet, the Pink and Chocolate Paisley Collection combines two elegant fabrics: a light, pink paisley and a brown background with pink polka dots. Six different outfits combine these two girly fabrics in various ways. Pink ribbon adds beautiful embellishments throughout the designs, and delightful ruffles on pant legs provide a “little girl” pose.
Throughout its growth, Whimsey Wear has remained a family-run business. Beth’s entire family is active in the day-to-day operations; her daughter helps pick out fabrics and patterns, her husband offers business ideas. and her son helps pack and ship orders.
Whimsy Wear is exceptionally popular in the Southern states. Beth warmly welcomes new retailers that share her desire to provide cute, yet age-appropriate apparel.
